tip  Refinishing
Do not try to do too much at once. Only apply stripper to sections at a time. Consider the top, the sides and the front all different sections. Work from top-to-bottom to avoid dripping stripper or old finish on completed sections.
 
tip  Stripper: Pressings
If removing finish from pressings , be sure to use liquid strip (a.k.a thin strip). Then remove finish with a brass brush or an old tooth brush. Leave some of the dark areas in crevices for contrast.
